ABOUT

La Trice Washington, Ph.D

Dr. La Trice Washington is a native of Richmond, Virginia.  She is the daughter of Rev. Shirley W. Jordan and Mr. Howard Jordan, Sr.  Dr. Washington made her confession of faith and was baptized at the age of 12 at St. John Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia.  She delivered her initial sermon “Living According To God’s Standard” on Friday, March 6, 2009 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.  She is a disciple of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio where she serves as a ministry leader of the Political and Judicial Awareness Ministry and Christ-Centered Discipleship (CCDM) Ministry.  Dr. Washington received her Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Augustine's College.  She received a Master's of Arts degree in constitutional law and state and local government.  She earned a PhD in American government and public administration from Howard University.  Dr. La Trice Washington is a tenured Associate Professor of Political Science at Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio.  She is the author of The Veterans Millennium Health Care Act of 1999:  A Case Study of Role Orientations of Legislators, the President and Interest Groups (2003).  She was a contributing author of Affirmative Action, two-volume resource that chronicles the development of affirmative action policies in the United States (2004).  She completed her second book entitled Political Scandals: The Consequences of Temporary Gratification in July 2014.  Dr. Washington’s favorite scriptures are found in James 1:11-12 and Ecclesiastes 9:11.  James 1:11-12 says “for the sun rises with scorching wind and withers the grass, and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so too the rich man in the midst of his pursuits will fade away.  Blessed is a man/woman who perseveres under trial for once he/she has been approved, he/she will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”  Ecclesiastes 9:11 reads “I returned, and I saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, no the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.” â€‹
