Ministry Focus

Preaching and Teaching

Dr. Washington preached her initial sermon at  Mt. Olivet Baptist Church on March 6,, 2009. She was licensed to preach the gospel on Sunday, March 8, 2009 by Dr. Charles E. Booth, Pastor of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 428 E. Main Street, Columbus, OH.  She is seres as the leader for both the Christ-Centered Disciples Ministry and the Political and Social Justice Ministry at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.

Discipleship Training

Dr. La Trice Washington serves as the Christ-Centered Disciples Ministry and is responsible for selecting curriculum, training facilitators, recruiting disciples, etc. 

Political and Social Justice 

Dr. La Trice Washington brings a unique blend of biblical training and academic training in American Government, Public Administration and Campaigns and Elections. She lead the Political and Social Justice Ministry at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Columbus, OH for more than 15 years.  She has organized political forums, developed and maintained relationships with political officials and decisions makers on the local, state and national levels.

She is a tenured Associate Professor of Political Science and is Chair of the Department of History and Political Science at Otterbein University.

Workshops

Dr. Washington has conducted workshops on a number of topics including:

  • "The Christian Response to Political Issues of our Time."

  • "The Christian and Social Justice"

  • "Human Trafficking: Modern Day Slavery"

  • "What Does The Bible Say About Justice?"
